Welcome to the Cathro Website

This website is dedicated to our branch of the Cathro family that settled in New Zealand. There are pictures and detailed descriptions of our early family its history and a little about the family as it is now. I am a fledgling photographer and have enjoyed sharing some pictures of the people and activities that are important to me.

Our clan originally came from Dundee Scotland and were mainly farm workers. They arrived in Dunedin, stayed in various places but based themselves in Kokonga, Central Otago.

This website also serves as a useful work tool for my business.

A huge thank you must go to my father, Bruce, who has done an amazing amount of research into the family past.
He has sourced, scanned, repaired and catalogued the old photos that are presented here. I guess that it helps to be a historian by trade!
